Job summary

The Red Hat Kernel Quality Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer in testing to join us in Beijing, China. In this role, you will join a team of skilled, motivated, and passionate Linux experts responsible for the quality of the kernel components of the Linux operating system. You'll need to be able to use dynamic programming languages like Python and scripting languages like bash. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work in an agile environment with developers and upstream project teams to extend test automation and improve continuous integration (CI) process to enhance the quality of Fedora, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Linux containers.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Enable and operate automated test suites
  • Coordinate test automation and improvement projects
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test cases
  • Improve process, documentation, and automation tools
  • Collaborate with internal and external Linux community members

Required skills

  • Solid background and skills in Linux, kernel, and containers
  • Solid scripting skills using bash and excellent Python skills in Linux
  • Experience with test automation frameworks, test script automation, and documentation
  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery technologies
  • Experience working in an agile team
  • Experience with team leading and project management
  • Willingness to collaborate with the open source community
  • Good written and verbal language skills in English
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work as a part of a distributed team based in the U.S., China, Czech Republic, and other countries
