Job summary

The Red Hat Customer Experience and Engagement (CEE) team is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will provide technical support surrounding the Red Hat Ansible Automation suite of offerings which includes Ansible Tower by Red Hat and Red Hat Ansible Engine. You’ll support customers in resolving technical issues with the deployment and use of Ansible Tower by Red Hat and Red Hat Ansible Engine. As a Technical Support Engineer, you’ll stage simulations in a lab environment to assist in problem identification and verification of problem resolution, as well as perform escalation of bugs identified in simulation or reproduction testing for the engineering and quality engineering (QE) teams.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Address and resolve customer issues regarding Ansible Tower by Red Hat and Red Hat Ansible Engine via the ticketing system
  • Create and carry out testing strategies to reproduce a wide variety of customer environments regarding issues and bugs found with Ansible Tower by Red Hat and Red Hat Ansible Engine
  • Work with customers to migrate, upgrade, and maintain Ansible Tower by Red Hat
  • Stay continuously up to date on relevant processes and technologies
  • Work to add to a knowledge base of customer issues around Ansible Tower by Red Hat and Red Hat Ansible Engine

Required skills

  • Knowledge of many Linux distributions, primarily of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Solid communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to easily set up replication scenarios for various customer issues; ability to identify patterns and understand the broader context
  • Knowledge of enterprise datacenter operations
  • Knowledge of private and public clouds like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Compute Engine (GCE), Microsoft Azure, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, Eucalyptus, VMware, Linode, or Digital Ocean
