Job summary

The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Sales Account Manager for the South Western U.S. region to join us. In this role, you will serve as the storage sales expert for Red Hat's Southwest region territory and you'll create and carry out strategic and tactical sales plans. You'll be a crucial part of scale-out storage software, helping to shape the ultimate success within this market segment for the leader in open source. This is a unique market opportunity to evangelize storage within the Red Hat suite of solutions. This remote position should be based ideally in Los Angeles or Orange County; candidates based in Phoenix, AZ and San Diego, CA will also be considered.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide storage expertise while working as a resource for all Red Hat account managers in the territory
  • Provide expertise to field sales teams who work with accounts serviced by the Red Hat channel
  • Meet or exceed customer acquisition and storage subscription quotas
  • Create and sustain strategic customer relationships
  • Develop and close sustainable revenue across technology lines
  • Guide the extended Sales team to maximize revenue growth
  • Accurately forecast and close sales in alignment with company goals

Required skills

  • 10+ years of successful enterprise storage sales experience
  • Demonstrated record of top sales performance
  • Ability to communicate well over the phone and in person
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites when needed
  • Executive relationships within the account set
  • Storage expertise and experience selling open source solutions
  • Knowledge of UNIX and Linux operating systems and cloud technologies is a plus
