Job summary

The Red Hat JBoss Fuse Quality Engineering team is looking for a Quality Engineer to join us in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will be responsible for quality aspects of the Red Hat JBoss Fuse, one of the three key Red Hat Middleware offerings. Your main responsibilities will include developing new automated tests for performance, APIs, GUIs, and usability testing. You'll also search for, analyze, report, and track defects and verify bug fixes. As a Quality Engineer, you will have a chance to work with some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry while serving as an internal advocate for our customers. You’ll need to have excellent technical and creative thinking skills, as you'll be encouraged to develop innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis. Primary job responsibilities

  • Design and develop test automation frameworks and tools
  • Focus on performance aspects of the Red Hat JBoss Fuse offering
  • Participate in the continuous improvement and optimization of the test automation model
  • Serve as an internal advocate for our customers
  • Participate at defining testing strategies and plans for the Red Hat JBoss Fuse offering
  • Analyze and prioritize the quality risks and determine the tests required to mitigate these risks
  • Provide root cause analysis for complex bugs reported by our customers; communicate the impact of these bugs to customers, developers, and support specialists
  • Document new bugs and advocate their resolution and fix with developers
  • Think innovatively on a daily basis
  • Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of the current technologies, especially enterprise Java technologies

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with Java and JEE
  • Knowledge of the build systems (Maven, Ant, and Gradle) and version control systems (SVN and Git)
  • Experience with continuous integration (CI)
  • Good communication skills in English; ability to read technical documentation
  • Motivated and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work without direct supervision in a dynamic environment
  • Fast learner with the ability to adapt to changes quickly
  • Experience with performance testing and JProfiler is a big plus
  • Deep knowledge of JVM and the garbage collection mechanism is a plus
  • Experience with high availability, load balancing, or clustering is a plus
