Job summary

The Red Hat Presales team is looking for a Director to lead the United Kingdom and Ireland (UKI) team. In this role, you will report to the UKI Managing Director and be directly responsible for the specialized presales teams covering all Red Hat technologies with a specific focus on our emerging technologies. Close collaboration with senior vertical sales leaders to define needed presales support for our continued growth in the region will also be a key part of your role.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Guide a vertically-aligned presales team to exceed financial, product, services, and customer goals; implement account strategies and coordinate with the Sales team’s selling efforts to close software business on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Identify, attract, develop, and retain talented people; build a positive team culture, including rewards and recognition that align each associate’s focus with Red Hat’s goals
  • Create training for your team to build the team members’ skills; coach and mentor them, strengthening the effectiveness of each member
  • Establish an effective management process for your team, including visit planning, implementation, performance assessment, follow up, and closing
  • Be an involved, strategic team leader who plays a support role in meetings to help your team succeed
  • Work in collaboration with the Services team to deliver a seamless presales and services experience for the customer; share customer and technology references based on this experience within key industry verticals
  • Be an expert in and evangelist of Red Hat’s technologies in the UKI marketplace; work directly with the Marketing team to stimulate customer demand for emerging technologies
  • Use resources beyond the immediate team you manage to deliver positive customer and internal Red Hat associate experience
  • Be responsible for fiscal planning, looking ahead on a 3-year basis to develop a team capable of delivering positive growth

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree, or equivalent technical training
  • Exceptional people management skills within a presales team
  • Record of collaborating with sales leaders across functions, determining the strategic needs of an organization and implementing them
  • Experience in a customer-facing role within a technology or consulting organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage customers on management level and senior leaders across the organization
  • Enterprise experience in project management using financial, operational, and project management methodologies
