Job summary

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Web Operations Manager to join us. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overall website strategy and development. You will oversee and manage the design and development efforts to increase our brand and individual solutions awareness. You’ll also work closely with other Red Hat marketing teams to create demand generation funnels, plan search engine optimization strategies. As a Web Operations Manager, you will collaborate with content contributors and train them on best practices and SEO website needs. We’ll need you to have a broad understanding of all aspects of website management and optimization, including UX and UI, design principles, digital content development, conversion optimization, A/B and multivariate testing, SEO, SEM, SEA and website performance analytics.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Own and document website strategy, including user experience and journeys in relation to personas and business goals policies and processes and communicate with relevant stakeholders
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and strategic planning of website to ensure site functionality, user experience, content architecture, and overall performance goals against marketing and business goals
  • Create solid, sustainable, and scalable processes and demonstrate prolific project management skills to guide web execution cross-functionally across all stakeholders
  • Partner closely with cross-functional teams, e.g., User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI), Product Development and Product Marketing, to deliver requirements and create impactful web campaigns, landing pages, and flows based on deep customer insights
  • Oversee website development and design efforts as related to ongoing website functionality and in support of campaign digital assets
  • Use all creative aspects of website development and design and ensure all deliverables are fully responsive and exceed accessibility standards; ensure appropriate measurement strategy is in place to fully evaluate performance
  • Partner with Engineering to ensure platform stability and optimization, including audit and improvement of CMS and analytics; work with corporate to develop CRM program and customer database
  • Partner with marketers and product managers to deliver high growth demand generation funnel in a cross-functional environment; identify areas of opportunity rooted in data and industry best practice, and develop plans of action to guide conversion rate improvements
  • Perform A/B testing, from targeting criteria and content placement to optimizing self-serve purchase flows
  • Partner with Design, Web Development, and Marketing Operations teams on UX enhancements
  • Generate test concepts, refine testing methodology and roadmaps across lines of business, and evangelize learning
  • Plan, implement, and measure organic search and SEO, SEM, and SEA efforts; audit and optimize SEO, including keyword strategy, backlinks, copy optimization, metadata, etc.
  • Work closely with content contributors to understand content and campaign needs, and how web and microsites can be built to support those objectives; develop guidelines and train content contributors on best practices for optimization
  • Provide solid internal client services like quality, responsiveness, engagement, attention to detail
  • Keep abreast of digital, mobile, and search trends in the industry; evaluate technologies and strategies, and carry out to support increasing brand and product awareness

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience with digital, mobile, and search trends in the industry
  • Experience evaluating technologies, strategies, and implementation to support increasing brand and solutions awareness
  • Experience further engaging website visitors and increasing website conversion
  • Experience with competitive analysis
  • Experience with SEO, including keyword strategy, backlinks, copy optimization, and metadata
  • Previous involvement in managing search-related projects involving marketing team contributors
  • Solid project management skills; detail-oriented and thorough in your approach to projects
  • Comfortable working with a digital marketing team to guide customers through the conversion funnel
