Job summary

The Red Hat Digital Marketing Strategy team is looking for a Front-End Developer to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will contribute to our Conversion Optimization team's ongoing digital marketing improvement initiatives and rapidly develop and deploy solutions that will guide immediate, sales pipeline impact. The team is a critical part of Red Hat's Digital Demand organization, and will collaborate closely with Marketing Communications, Campaigns, and IT. As a Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for the production of digital solutions that maximize go-to-market campaigns and conversion. You will operate in an agile, fast-paced environment, embrace continual optimization through testing, and help mentor other team members as needed. You will report to the senior manager of Digital Strategy and Design team.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide front-end development for digital demand programs, including conversion-focused landing pages, digital advertising units, digital marketing fields kits, and email
  • Develop start-to-finish responsive web assets for complex interactive HTML layouts with new and established CSS principles and attributes
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designs
  • Optimize code for maximum speed and scalability
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Help develop team's production workflow across multiple platforms

Required skills

  • 3+ years of front-end development experience, including experience with landing pages, emails and digital advertising units
  • Proficient in web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Basic understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms like SCSS
  • Thorough understanding of object-oriented scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • 2+ years of experience with command line technologies like NPM, Bower, and Gulp
  • Deep understanding of code versioning tools like Git
    Understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Good understanding of optimization best practices, SEO principles, and adhering to them
  • Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, slice, or perform small adjustments to design mockups; familiarity with Photoshop is a plus
  • Comfortable working with limited resources
  • Familiar with best practices of web design, including cross-browser issues with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve bugs quickly
  • Excellent time management and written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Desire to learn and master new technologies and tools
  • Experience with Drupal, Eloqua, and Adobe Marketing Cloud is a plus
