Job summary

The Red Hat People (HR) team is looking for a Senior Learning and Development Consultant to join us in Westford, MA. In this role, you’ll support Red Hat's global Products and Technologies (PnT) team and be a key member of Red Hat University (RHU). You will be responsible for implementing and advancing learning and development initiatives in alignment with the global strategy. You'll work collaboratively with business leadership, regional leadership teams, other centers of excellence, and business teams to ensure RHU continues to provide the world-class learning and development (L&D) solutions needed to achieve business objectives and enable Red Hat's success.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Serve as RHU's primary connection to the global PnT team
  • Manage capability gap analysis and facilitate prioritization of critical learning and development interventions aligned to business needs
  • Provide on-schedule, on-budget delivery of strategic plans to ensure RHU is designing, developing, and delivering prioritized L&D for associates and managers
  • Collaborate with regional L&D consultants to ensure global development experiences are effective and meet business needs in each geography
  • Work closely with RHU curriculum and portfolio managers to ensure RHU's portfolio of L&D offerings is effective and comprised of the optimal mix of formal, informal, experiential, social, self-paced, instructor-led, and virtual options
  • Ensure RHU's global portfolio of offerings is fully understood and used to address the business needs of the target audience in each region
  • Ensure business impact metrics are established and collected to validate the effectiveness of L&D offerings for Red Hat PnT teams
  • Ensure Red Hat's PnT team understands and uses global talent and L&D solutions, including manager and leader development and professional development
  • Provide ongoing coaching to senior leadership in the areas of adult learning, employee development, and organizational capability development to advance the corporate strategy and regional business goals
  • Collaborate with regional L&D consultants, curriculum and portfolio managers, architects, and instructional designers to localize global programs to address critical and unique audience needs
  • Provide insights into the effects of various learning programs on organizational performance

Required skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in organization development, human resources, education, business, or a related field; master’s degree and professional certification is a big plus
  • Extensive experience in consulting on technical capability development in alignment with strategic business goals, including assessment, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions
  • Deep knowledge and proven history of successfully applying adult learning theory in a fast-paced environment
  • Record of designing, developing, and implementing effective L&D programs that are practical, realistic, and produce measurable impact
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to act as a business-minded change agent within the organization
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex, strategic ideas or concepts in a business and user-friendly manner
  • Experience working in a global corporation with a matrix organizational structure
  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity like dealing with issues, problems, or events that do not always have a process, system, or solution in place
  • Focused on results, strategic, with a consultative orientation
