Job summary

The Red Hat Application Platforms team is looking for a Product Manager to join us. In this role, you’ll help us define tools, guides, and services to help customers move from proprietary middleware platforms to Red Hat's open source, fully containerized application runtimes. You will play a critical part in Red Hat's continued growth in middleware application platforms and also enable customers to rapidly modernize their application development and deployment. As a Product Manager of the Red Hat Application Platforms Migration team, you will ensure that we have the tools, documentation, and guidance to help customers move existing applications to Red Hat's application platforms. This role can be based in one of the following locations: Brno, Czech Republic, Newcastle, UK, Westford, MA, or Raleigh, NC.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other product managers to understand the competitive migration requirements, priorities, and coordinate with their roadmaps
  • Facilitate the collection of product input and feedback from users and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap and delivery plan for tools and guides that assist in customer's application modernization and migration
  • Specify, prioritize, and track functional and non-functional requirements for back-end functionality, integrated development environment (IDE), as well as web applications
  • Work with the engineering team on a delivery and release plan that supports the strategic roadmap
  • Validate product milestone release candidates against release criteria
  • Create and deliver product demonstrations and presentations for various audiences
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, trust, and accountability for departmental and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions on time and budget

Required skills

  • Solid technical background with a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related technical field; MBA is a plus
  • 1-2 years of experience in product management roles within software companies or experience in capturing and defining requirements (e.g specification documents, wireframes)
  • Good working knowledge of middleware or infrastructure software products like application servers, integration servers, and application development tools
  • Knowledge of Java and JavaScript
  • Ability to collaborate, learn quickly, and work in a fast-paced environment with team members dispersed across multiple countries and time zones
  • Passionate, motivated, and curios

Knowledge of the following will be considered a plus:

  • Linux containers, Eclipse IDE, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift by Red Hat, Cloud Foundry, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud
  • JBoss Middleware, IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic middleware portfolios
  • Agile methodologies like scrum, XP, AUP
