Job summary

The Red Hat Business Architecture team is looking for a Technical Business Development Executive to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you’ll work with strategic industry partners to conceive, develop, and implement creative solution and market initiatives. You will work closely with both key partners, as well as internally with business units and engineering teams to identify, scope, contract, and internally spearhead and track the delivery of market changing initiatives. As a Technical Business Development Executive, you will work with business development executives at key partners, as well as key product, engineering, and sales leaders within Red Hat, and so global travels may be required. We prefer this position to be based in Raleigh, NC, however candidates based in Boston, MA or remotes close to a major airport will also be considered.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Identify new business opportunities across strategic partners and Red Hat portfolios
  • Lead executive level meetings with strategic partners and Red Hat in pursuit of new business opportunities   
  • Identify and align partner and Red Hat initiatives to create and deliver publicly visible market deliverables
  • Negotiate and manage initiative contracts, from concept communication through contract implementation
  • Manage project delivery across strategic partner and Red Hat team members
  • Create and deliver public statements, press releases, and webinars introducing joint initiatives

Required skills

  • Master's degree or relevant technical degree
  • Detailed knowledge of enterprise IT operational constructs like procurement, ISV purchasing activities, routes to market, etc.
  • Detailed knowledge of emerging technology trends, including public and hybrid cloud, containers
  • 10-15 years of product management, engineering management, or technical business development experience
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Ability to work on your own and travel globally   
  • Comfortable presenting thoughts, ideas, and successes to the C-level executives
  • Willingness and motivation to learn and progress in an innovative technology company
  • Keen understanding of enterprise IT architectures, software business operating models, legal contracting, and emerging technical constructs
  • Broad exposure to Red Hat's solutions portfolio
