Job summary

The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for a Technical Consultant to join us in New Delhi, India. In this role, you will play a key part in our clients' evolution in enterprise development and make our solutions practical and workable for their businesses. You’ll lead the on-site implementation of Red Hat Middleware and DevOps technologies like Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, Red Hat JBoss Fuse, Red Hat JBoss Data Grid, Red Hat JBoss Web Server, Red Hat JBoss BPM Suite, and OpenShift by Red Hat. You will gain an understanding of clients' infrastructure and business needs, make recommendations that resolve issues, and help them make strategic decisions. As a Senior Middleware Consultant, you will build enterprise applications and capabilities around cloud technologies to streamline development and allow for continuous feature release of applications.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Be a respected Red Hat subject matter expert at the client site, addressing technical, developmental, and strategic IT requirements
  • Handle tough problems in an innovative way
  • Define overall system architectures and manage software specification, design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
  • Assist the project or technical managers in setting and delivering on expectations
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry practices through project experience and training
  • Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions in a professional manner
  • Deliver projects in a timely and professional manner with customer satisfaction

Required skills

  • 6+ years of experience with middleware and Java EE, including enterprise web or middleware development
  • 6+ years of experience working with enterprise stakeholders on a range of development and deployment projects
  • Advanced Java and architecture experience with demonstrated architect-level involvement with many aspects of middleware
  • In-depth experience in at least one of the major middleware solutions
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, object-oriented design, and development principles, including enterprise design patterns
  • Understanding of Java frameworks or libraries like Spring, Hibernate, Struts, or Tomcat
  • Good working knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Experience with Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) technologies, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery technologies, and software version control tools
  • Solid foundation in agile development methodologies
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) is a plus
