Job summary

The Red Hat Product Security team is looking for a Security Response Specialist to join us in the Latin America (LATAM) region. In this role, you will work with various security issues across the Red Hat solutions portfolio. You’ll perform initial analysis and triage of vulnerability notifications and ensure our security analysts have enough information to prioritize and act on them in a timely fashion. As a Security Response Specialist, you'll collaborate with other Red Hat engineers on various security tasks, ensuring that Red Hat continues to protect customers from relevant security concerns.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Rapidly respond to new security issues
  • Evaluate vulnerability threats and risks and prioritize tasks to ensure that serious issues get immediate attention
  • Cooperate with software developers, managers, quality and support teams, engineers, upstream developers, and your team members about vulnerabilities
  • Communicate effectively and rapidly with customers about security concerns in Red Hat’s solutions
  • Document vulnerabilities, flaws, and their fixes through the entire update release life cycle in the team's knowledge base

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 1-3 years of experience with Linux
  • Proficiency in coding using C, Python, Java, Bash, and similar
  • languages
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under pressure
  • Security response experience is a big plus
  • Knowledge of open source software is a big plus
